PRIVACY POLICY
How we handle your data
Last updated: 28 April 2026
Who we are
This website (echoesoftheeast.co.uk) exists to promote the novel Echoes of the East.
What we collect
We do not run sign-up forms, accept payments, or otherwise ask for personal information on this site. The only data we process is collected automatically through analytics and advertising tools:
- Google Analytics 4 — pseudonymous device and session data (page paths, approximate location, device type, referrer) used to understand traffic.
- Google Ads — a conversion tracking tag used to measure ad performance and (with your consent) build remarketing audiences.
- Vercel Analytics — anonymous, aggregated traffic counts used to monitor site performance.
All outbound purchase links go to third parties (Amazon UK, Waterstones, Barnes & Noble, Bookshop.org, Goodreads, Spotify), each with their own privacy policies that apply once you leave this site.
Cookies and consent
We use Google Consent Mode v2. Until you choose “Accept” in the consent banner, all analytics and advertising cookies are denied — Google receives only anonymised pings (no client identifiers, no ad personalisation). You can change your choice at any time by clearing your site data and refreshing the page.
Legal basis (UK GDPR)
We rely on your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)) to set non-essential analytics and advertising cookies, and on legitimate interests(Article 6(1)(f)) for anonymous, aggregated traffic counts that don’t identify you.
Your rights
You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site’s cookies and refreshing the page. Concerns about UK data handling can be raised with the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change how we process data, we’ll update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above.
